Mary Woodall, our new Jesuit Volunteer from the Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC), joins Civicorps from Summit, New Jersey!
Mary spent a lot of her childhood camping with her family and enjoying the outdoors. Mary shares that her dad is a native of the Bay Area who relocated to New Jersey from California and met her mother through the JVC program, an unfamiliar one. Mary studied religious studies with an emphasis on social justice at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, before volunteering with Civicorps. Mary decided to join JVC and our Civicorps family after realizing she wanted to combine her academic interests with her love of the outdoors. Mary has participated in a variety of outdoor activities, including being a Girl Scout camp counselor, building houses, and working on a vegetable farm. “I don’t mind getting my hands dirty, which is why I’m so excited to be a part of Civicorps,” says Mary.
